I'm beginning to get the hang of using social media for promotions and marketing.
I'm in the midst of a major environmental campaign seeking to stop a development project in the middle of critical habitat for an endangered species. I've put up an on-line petition and I'm using Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin to attract like-minded folks to the campaign web site and the petition. Though this is a modest campaign on a very local issue, I'm pleasantly surprised at the response.
This same strategy can be used for on-line marketing of books and other forms of the printed word. I can see how this would work in a coordinated campaign on a national or even international level.
I'm amazed at myself, at my age, to be able to work the system so well!
